General Description / Special Programs
Students majoring in anthropology earn a BS degree in anthropology with a choice between three different specialty options: (1) Archaeology, which has an applied archaeological and environmental focus; and (2) General Anthropology, which is a traditional four-field approach to the discipline, or 3,) Applied Anthropology option which seeks to train students in academic and non-academic dimensions of anthropology. Each option prepares students for either graduate studies or for employment in one of the increasingly numerous occupations for which anthropological training is desirable or appropriate.
