General Description / Special Programs
Wheaton is committed to gender-conscious education as well as the development of an understanding of non-Western cultures and the diversity of race, class and ethnicity in the US. The college offers Junior Year abroad and international internships. In addition to the Anthropology major and Anthropology and Public Health major, Wheaton offers minors in Asian Studies, Development Studies, Latin American Studies, Public Health, and Urban Studies, as well as Majors in African/African American/Diaspora Studies, Women's/Gender Studies, and International Relations.

Support Opportunities
Anthropology majors may apply for Davis Grants to allow them to return to the field during intercession periods in order to pursue their independent research and Wheaton Fellowship grants to support domestic internships and research. Separate summer and academic year competitive grants support faculty-student research collaborations.
