11 units including Intro Cultural, Theory, Senior Seminar, one additional 300-level seminar and 1.5 units of intensive study. Students must take courses in at least three of the four fields of anthropology: archaeology, biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, and linguistic anthropology. Students are encouraged to achieve familiarity with the peoples and cultures of at least two areas of the world.

Program Details
Research Facilities

Collaborative student/faculty research is funded through URSI, Ford and Mellon funds, on a regular basis. The Department of Anthropology has archaeology and biological anthropology labs that contain equipment for osteological, zooarchaeological, and historic artifact analyses. Fossil hominid and primate bone casts can be printed on demand, using 3D printers. Artifacts from ongoing archaeological investigations are available for student research and comparative studies. The Department houses a Linguistics, Culture, and History lab used in research, teaching, and independent student work on historical and contemporary language and linguistic analysis.
