Interest/Specialty Areas Dr. Gonzales is Comanche & Genízaro from New Mexico. He joins the NMSU Department of Anthropology as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Native American and Indigenous Studies. Previously, Dr. Gonzales was a Post-Doctoral Scholar in Indigenous Knowledges with the Department of Comparative Studies at The Ohio State University and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Colorado College and the University of California, Santa Barbara. As an NDN anthropolocote, educator, and researcher, his work explores the politics and conditions of race, ethnicity, and Indigeneity manifesting across the New Mexico borderlands.
