Biography

My research focuses on fossil and extant primate functional skeletal morphology to assess the diversity of the fossil record and understand the paleoecology of early hominins. I integrate qualitative and quantitative methods from anatomy, paleontology, primatology, archaeology, evolutionary biology, ecology, and taphonomy to understand how functional morphology, dietary adaptations, and environmental indicators can be applied to create a fuller picture of human and primate evolution.

My research is primarily collections based with materials at the National Museum of Ethiopia and National Museum of Kenya although I have worked in several other institutions both US-based and internationally for comparative work. Ongoing research and affiliations include analyses of Cercopithecidae postcranial remains from the Turkana Basin and Afar Region of Ethiopia.
