Biography

I am currently a Preparing Future Faculty Postdoctoral Fellow in the Anthropology Department at Mizzou as well as an NSF-SPRF Postdoctoral Fellow at the Archaeometry Lab at the University of Missouri Research Reactor. My research examines how humans interact with and give meaning to their surroundings. I have approached this topic from a variety of perspectives including the reconstruction of ancient landscapes and human-environment dynamics using zooarchaeology and geoarchaeology, landscape studies of modern placemaking, and iconographic and statistical analyses of Mesoamerican and Central American rock art imagery. I consider mentorship (particularly or underrepresented communities), community engagement, and science communication fundamental pillars of my work.
