General Description / Special Programs
VCU Anthropology champions a broad, holistic approach to the study of the multifaceted complexity of human nature, evolution and physical variation, material culture, and social life, emphasizing balance and integration among all four fields of the discipline: biological anthropology, archaeology, anthropological linguistics, and cultural anthropology. Anthropology is one of the programs in the interdisciplinary School of World Studies (including also programs and concentrations in foreign languages and area studies), students can take advantage of enhancing their anthropology degree program through double-majoring or minoring in one of a number of interdisciplinary tracks within the School.
