Biography

Raven Garvey's research centers on hunter-gatherer adaptations to challenging environments, and combines archaeological data with evolutionary modeling to address questions at the interface between human behavioral ecology and cultural transmission theory. She is the author of the forthcoming book Patagonian Prehistory: Human Ecology and Cultural Evolution in the Land of Giants (2020) and co-author, with Robert Bettinger and Shannon Tushingham, of Hunter-Gatherers: Archaeological and Evolutionary Theory (2nd edition, 2015)
