Department subfields include Archaeology, Ethnology, and Evolutionary Anthropology. Both BS and MS degrees offered in addition to BA and MA, undergraduate honors program, historic preservation graduate certificate, MA Public Archaeology, summer and fall field training programs in New Mexico, Hawaii, Belize, Spain, and Bolivia.

BA/BS Requirements
There are three undergraduate concentrations: Archaeology, Ethnology, or Evolutionary Anthropology. Students can receive either a BA or BS degree. Both degrees require 36 total credit hours and a minimum of 18 upper division credits (300-400 level). For a BS degree, students must concentrate in either Archaeology or Evolutionary Anthropology, take 6 hours of mathematics, 3-6 credits hours of a technical lab or Field school and minor in a department that is a science.
MA/ MS Requirements 32 units course work, paper or portfolio, and/or exam; or 24 units plus thesis. For Public Archaeology Master's terminal degree: 36 units course work, paper or portfolio.

Phd Requirements 48 units course work, plus 18 hours of dissertation credits, written and/or oral examinations, dissertation proposal, fieldwork, languages and/or skills
