BA/BS Requirements
There are four required core courses covering the four fields of anthropology plus a senior integrative capstone with a public anthropology final product. In addition, students take one practicum course and electives chosen from three topical clusters (Adaptation, Cultural Diversity, Emerging Practices) to reach a total of 36 credit hours.

The Anthropology Department administers the Archaeology minor and the interdisciplinary Global Health Minor.

Support Opportunities

Rebecca Jeanne Andrew Memorial Awards grants given annually to undergraduates for research in primatology. Recent awardees worked in Costa Rica, England, Kenya, Madagascar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Senegal, Thailand, Trinidad, Ecuador, Uganda, US.

Research Facilities

The Department maintains faculty research laboratories in archaeology, biological, cultural and medical anthropology, and offers training in archaeology, collections management, cultural anthropology, behavioral primatology, ethnography, linguistic anthropology, and medical and psychological anthropology research..  

Misc Information Carol Kist Student Award Funds support efforts of students in Anthropology Department. Ronald and Judith Spielbauer Award supports students in Archaeology and Material Culture.
