The undergraduate major is Sociology and Social Anthropology in which a combination of classes from either discipline may be taken. For the honours degree a greater concentration in Soc. Anthro is required. For the MA and PhD degree students are expected to concentrate work in one of the 3 areas: social injustice and inequality; critical health studies and economy, work, and development.

Support Opportunities Graduate student support: Teaching assistantships and graduate scholarships available on a competitive basis, including Isaac Walton Killam scholarships for outstanding students. Canadian students must apply for SSHRC funding in order to be eligible for the Isaac Walton Killam scholarship. Limited funds available to support thesis research and conference travel.
