General Description / Special Programs

The Human Relations Area Files (HRAF) is a nonprofit membership organization whose mission is to encourage and facilitate the cross-cultural study of human culture, society, and behavior in the past and present. HRAF is a financially autonomous research agency of Yale University that receives its primary financial support from over 500 member institutions. It produces eHRAF World Cultures and eHRAF Archaeology.
